4/29/2021  Small Craft Safety Training - Canoeing.   You can get certified to take your troop canoeing with this class.  Please note that it is not a canoe skills class and attendees will have to pass a canoe skills assessment before taking this class.  You can find the class on eBiz http://gsusa.ebiz.uapps.net/vp/SearchResults.aspx?Search=small+craft by searching for small craft after you've logged in. Confused by all the Girl Scout websites?  Not sure about all the ways your girls & families can use our camps?  Want to hear about some great volunteer-run events that you need to know about,  to know about?  Got a burning question you want to ask people who have been around a while?  RSVP here

Fire Building and Fire Safety

June 20 at 10 am at the Como Park Fire Pits.  Free. Open to volunteers and their daughters (not a troop event).  We'll cover Girl Scout Fire Safety rules, how to build fires and how to use hatchets.  We'll send a list of things you can bring if you'd like to make some camp food.  RSVP here.

Compass & Map Skills

July 11th at  11 am at Tamarack Nature Center in White Bear Township.  Free. Learn to read a topo map and use a compass as you find the markers on Tamarack's permanent orienteering course.    Volunteers are welcome to bring their families (not a troop event).  RSVP here.

Poison Ivy & Tree Hike

July 25th at  10 am at Crosby Farm Park (St. Paul).   Free.  Walk the trails and learn to identify trees and poison ivy.    Volunteers are welcome to bring their daughters (not a troop event) with them.  RSVP here.

Lakamaga Conference

August 21st at Camp Lakamaga (Marine on St. Croix).  Volunteer-run conference with a variety of sessions.  Keep an eye on it here:  https://www.lakamagaadultconference.com/

Pie Irons & More

September 12th at 10 am at the Como Park Fire Pits.    Free. Open to volunteers and their daughters (not a troop event).  We'll send a list of ingredients out and volunteers can try out some fun pie iron recipes. We'll also learn how about dunk bags, the 3 bin wash system, and how to tie a clove hitch and larks head for hanging up dunk bags.
